We are happy to invite you to meet Lois Steinberg and the Iyengar yoga method in its most authentic dimension.
This-year convention is an invitation to the practice where form becomes a means through which the body, breath and attention interact, enabling perception - perception of action, its effect and the quality of attention present in movement.
Lois Steinberg’s teaching is rooted in the tradition of Iyengar yoga and in her direct experience gained from the Institute in Pune. She preserves the core of the method: precision, clarity and responsibility towards structure and process. At the same time, she draws attention to what is most fundamental in Iyengar yoga - the ability to recognise the relationship between form, action and consciousness as well as the joy of practice which arises when action becomes appropriate and attention is established.
In such practice, asana becomes a tool for observation. It allows one to see how movement is organised in the body, where effort emerges and where lightness and intelligence of action arise. Precision is not the goal in itself but a condition for recognising what truly occurs in experience.
The sequence creates an exploration space in which action and its effect remain in direct relationship. It proceeds both with broad strokes - through understanding structure and direction - and by delving into intricacies that require careful seeing, patience and readiness for correction.
The convention will maintain the full identity of the Iyengar method’s structure, coherence and continuity with Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. It will present it as a learning process rooted in practice, where experience leads to understanding and understanding leads to a greater clarity of action.
It will open up space for developing mindful perception as a fundamental competence of Iyengar yoga - one that leads from form to recognition and from action to inner clarity. It is the convention for those who want to practise responsibly, see clearly and study yoga through the conscious residing in the form of asana.

We invite you to join the teachers’ session with Lois on Friday morning!
This meeting is addressed to IYENGAR yoga teachers and dedicated to the practice of asanas viewed from the perspective of teaching - the choice of actions and working methods in relation to the goal. Particular attention will be paid to the art of correction, understood not as a set of techniques, but as mindful seeing, recognising the moment, and giving an appropriate response.
The practice will focus on sharpening one’s perception and broadening awareness both in the experience of asana and in one’s teaching decisions. It will also focus on responsibility for form, safety and clarity of the Iyengar yoga method.
The session will be built on the poses of level II and level III programme.
